Welcome...

2008 Update - Some of you may have heard that the Wildman is going to be performing some wicked stunts at CLS on the evening of the 4th of July.  The "Night of Destruction" is going to hold some amazing acts.  Some of the fun will be:  A Guinness World Record jump attempt, Crane Drop, Bus Jump over SIX cars and more!  See CLS http://cedarlakespeedway.com/nightofdestruction.aspx for more information on all events including trailer races!  A great fireworks show will follow all the events.

School Bus Races at CLS:  Our "Wildman" participated in the School Bus Races at Cedar Lake Speedway.  It was breathtaking to say the least.  Wildman had a boat (A BOAT) attached to the back of his bus - then - he plowed into the trailer that was attched to another bus.  There is always excitement when Wildman is in the house!

2007 Wrap up:  Clay was out at Cedar Lake Speedway this year and did three stunts for them.  He did two car jumps and drove a big ol' Caddy through a motor home (that's one of my favorites)!  He did the motor home stunt the night that Dale Jr was there and our Wildman got a chance to shake hands with the legend (or did Dale get to shake hands with our legend??).  It was an amazing night for all and very exciting to watch!  Thanks to everyone who came out to show their support for the Wildman!

2007 Info:   Stay tuned to Clay's website for information on upcoming stunts.  More thrills and chills from "The Wildman" for everyone in 2007!!

A special thank you to Crash Moreau - Thanks to him, Clay is listed on Crash's famous website at www.thrillchampions.com.  Click on "The Crash Champions" at the top of the links and you will see Clay!  Thanks again Crash!

2006 Wrap-up:  Clay's 2006 was a very exciting one!  He was busy doing stunts and giving the crowd what they wanted.  MORE EXCITEMENT!  He did a number of thrilling car jumps, a rollover, a hair raising flaming box crash and two fabulous motor home crashes!  Nothing boring going on at the track - that's for sure!  Clay would like to thank all the fans, family and friends that came out to see him and cheer him on.  Your support has made this an exciting venture.  Stay tuned to this site, next year will bring more thrills and chills!

August 14, 2006 - Clay performed a rollover this past weekend at CLS!  He took the truck he used to be driven through the flaming box and rolled it over.  It was quite exciting to watch!  Stay tuned for his next exciting stunt!

August 7, 2006 - Fresh from TWO fabulous stunts at Cedar Lake Speedway!  Clay performed two hair raising stunts this past weekend.  Friday he kicked off the weekend with his "Flaming Box Crash".  Clay builds a box a bit larger than a single car garage sets it on fire and is driven through it - twice - while he is hanging on to the hood of a car!  (Or a truck in this case!)  He did a great job and the stunt was enjoyed by all!  On Saturday, he performed a wonderful car jump over two cars, through a motor home, and over four more cars.  The crowded loved it!  He jumped the car through the motor home twice then parked the car on top of the cars in front of the motor home!  The crowd went wild.  They really loved it when the refrigerator got hooked on the front bumper of the car and came out of the motor home!  What will he do next??  Stay tuned!

New Info Directly from CedarLakeSpeedway.com:

. . .we got another show from stunt devil Clay “The Wildman” Gallagher. The Wildman added two more cars to last week’s total of three and made it a five car ramp jump. As the audience held their breath, Clay smoothly made the run and cleared all five parked cars before smashing down hard on the nose of the vehicle. A great jump for the crowd and a promise to return next weekend for the Masters to put on an even better show yet!  (6-10-06)

Great Racing and High-Flying Highlight Kids Night at Cedar Lake

As the unofficial start to summer kicked off last weekend, summer felt officially underway this weekend as temperatures reached nearly 90 degrees Saturday afternoon.  With great weather traditionally comes great crowds, and that was the case Saturday night at CLS as a large crowd filed in for the first of three kids night at the racetrack.  Free admission, ice cream and toys for the kids were just the beginning of the fun this evening.  In addition to the great action on the racetrack, Stuntman Clay “The Wildman” Gallagher climbed into a truck and accelerated off a ramp to jump over three parked cars.  The crowd loved it as Clay landed on all four wheels despite not having a landing ramp to come down on.  Much to the crowds delight, “The Wildman” told the audience he would be coming back next week (June 10th) to do the jump again… this time over five cars!  (6-03-06)

“The Wildest Show on Wheels”

Famous Flaming Box Crash:

A 3-sided box made out of wood is constructed 10’ wide x 6’ deep x 6’ tall is set on fire.  I am strapped to the hood of a car, holding onto 2 handles.  We make one lap or straight line shot into the box with me on the hood of the car – we disappear into the box and come smashing out of the back of the box.  Very cool effect.  Gets the crowd’s attention a lot.  This is approximately a 50-60 mph stunt.

Rollover:

Car is driven by me off of a ½ ramp or flatbed trailer.  Driver’s side 2 wheels up ramp – car rolls over starting on passenger side – usually 2-3 times per attempt is our average roll.  If all goes well, car ends up right side up (wheels on ground) and we can restart it and go again.  The most I have rolled is 5 times in one shot.  Flash pots/explosions may be used.  This is approximately a 40-50 mph stunt.

Car Jump Over Parallel Parked Cars:

(The most cars I have cleared is 12.)  I launch the car from a 48' or 53' flatbed semi-trailer (landing gear/legs removed from trailer to make ramp) cars butted up to trailer, parallel parked (however many) and we go for it.  We have set the cars being jumped over on fire before and like to have flash pots/explosions at the time the car leaves the ramp.  (Not necessary, but it really adds to this stunt.)  This stunt starts out at approximately 50+ mph for a 4 car and up to 80+ for a 12 car stunt.
